Wednesday night we faced off with defending conference champs, Cedarburg High School! A historically strong volleyball program was still strong. JV2 took a 0-3 loss. JV1 prevailed with a great 3-set match winning 2-1. Varsity fought hard but also took a 0-3 loss.
Set one of the Varsity match was a hype one! Both teams duking it out going point for point for most of the game. Unfortunately were unable to pick up any blocks against Cedarburgs powerful offense which gave them the edge to win game one 25-21.
Set two we tied back and had the lead most of the game. All the way into the twenties! Cedarbug came up with some clutch plays to sneak out a win 25-23. That game felt like what we did to Homestead on Monday. It took the wind out and in set 3 we didn't have the same bite the whole set. We still managed to put up 20 points but Cedarburg had that one in the bag.
Even though we lost all 3 we definitely had a mid-season reality shock! Let us know what we need to do to take our game to the next level. We still have a chance to be co-champs but will need to have a perfect finish for the rest of the conference season.
We face off against Hartford on Monday, September 19th at home!
